i was taking all of the stuff out of my religion notebook from last year so i could use it as a calculus notebook for this year, and as i was doing so, i discovered all of the little "reflection papers" the bitch made us write. re-reading them, i'm surprised she didn't hate me more than she did. really surprised. anyway, i found this piece of genius among the piles of shit, and i just thought i'd share it with you. the assignment: pretend you are moses and write your biography including at least 4 major life events discussed in class.
hello! my name is moses. no last name for me, just moses. i'm pretty old now and i'm about to die, so i figured i better write something about my life down before i'm dead and everone forgets about me, so here goes:
when i was just a litle baby, some king dude was having all baby boys killed. not cool. so my mom hides me so i won't be killed. i was a pretty quiet baby, so no one noticed. as i got bigger, it was harder and harder to hide me, so my mom made me a little water-proof basket and had my sister watch me in the river to make sure i didn't float away or get eaten by a vicious animal. i also got a nice tan floating out there all day. ah, that was the life. good thing i didn't get skin cancer. i wouldn't want to ruin my perfect complexion with ugly splotches.
anyway, back to baby me on the river. one day this princess from far away is down bathing in the same river i float in and saw my cute little baby self. she couldn't resist me. she wanted to keep me and raise me. but...oh no! i needed a nurse-maid! fortunately, my sister was really smart for her age and stepped forward and offered to go find one. she came back with our mom and we all got to move away. growing up, my mom told me about my hebrew past. i got to be bi-cultural!
when i got older, i saw these egyptians mistreating a hebrew slave. this made me really mad because of my own hebrew past. i got really upset and killed those mistreaters. fortunately, i didn't see anyone around. this whole little murder th ing would be my little secret. no death-row for me! the next day, i saw two hebrews fighting and i didn't like that. i asked them why they were fighting, and thery were all "you gonna kill us like you did that egyptian dude?" oh no! my secret was out! so i fled to midian. great place.
once i was there, i saw a pretty girl taking her sheep down to the watering hole. i went up to lil' miss bo peep and she invited me back to dinner. a little while later, i married zipporah, the priest's daughter. great gal.
now let's jump forward to when i'm up on the mountain of god with some sheep. sheep are very important around here. then i see this burning bush. i'm all "oh no! forest fires are bad!" but then i realize the bush isn't really burning...it's just on fire. the bush was not being consumed by the flames! it must have been a work of god. then the lord told me to take everyone to the land of milk and honey. yum. lots of good food in the promised land. apparently god had seen all of these egyptians suffering, and was very concerned. how nice of him. now he's butting in and trying to relocate people.
then i went to the pharoah and asked him to let us move. because god said so. surprise, surprise, he didn't believe me. go figure. so i took his staff and threw it on the ground. god did his little snake-trick thing and turned the staff into a snake. very nifty trick. then i picked it back up and it was a staff again. the stubborn pharoah still didn't believe me, so i stuck my normal hand in my poicket and pulled it out again. BAM! leperacy! not good though, so i stuck it back in, pulled it out, and no more leperacy. i was healed! very stubborn pharoah. eventually, he let us go, and we all lived happily ever after. see my second edition to hear how the rest of the story went.

surprisingly, i got a star on this paper. the same grade as people who actually put some effort into writing this seriously. i am the master of bullshitting papers.

caitlin and i went to see 'the brothers grimm' today. it was pretty good. a few excellent line such as "trust the toad!!" and "it's not magic! it's just shiny!" then on the way home we passed this field type thing where this guy had just baled a bunch of hay, and was proceeding to pick them up and move them to wherever one takes several bales of hay. and i said something along the lines of 'oh cool! they finally mowed the hay!" and caitlin says "no, i think those are pine needles." *i burst out laughing, and a few minutes later, when i can breathe again, "caitlin...pine needles grow on TREES! did you seriously think that you can just..GROW some pine needles then harvest them?" and she says "well...at the time i said that....yes, yes i did." oh my. it was fabulous.

it's 4:14 in the morning. i can't sleep. which is rather annoying, as i actually have to get up tomorrow. today. whatever. either way, i'm alternating between not being able to get comfortable and not being able to calm down....and my ears feel like they really need to pop, but they don't. they just feel messed up...like i've been on an airplane for too long. which is stupid because i haven't done anything out of the ordinary to make my ears feel weird *or* keep me from being able to sleep. i really want to watch an episode of family guy (the last disc of the first volume came today) but i know if i start i won't be able to stop until i've watched the whole dvd, and then it'll be even later/earlier and the whole sleep thing just won't be able to happen. arg. all of those times in chemistry when i absolutely could NOT stay awake, and here i am completely not able to get to sleep. ah, the irony.

went to starbucks today to play some chess (and then some scrabble) with fruzsina. much fun. we each won a game of chess, and after a thoroughly enjoyable game of scrabble, we tallied the points and fru kinda kicked my ass on that one. which leads into this quotation of the day:
